Lake Lenore Location Manager

We’re looking to hire a location manager. This position oversees all aspects of the retail location including management of key accounts, location operations, budget, and staff. The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience within the agriculture industry, with a preferred background in agronomy or sales. Salary is negotiable, with future potential to buy into Horizon Fertilizers.

Start Date

This position is full time with the employee starting work as soon as possible. 

Key Roles & Responsibilities  

Location Operations Manager 

  • Oversee overall operations of location including office, equipment and warehouse maintenance, operational staff, product logistics for location and support sales activities  
  • Develop annual location expense budgets and present to President   
  • Contribute to corporate strategic planning including planning around ensuring a profitable location 
  • Ensure inter-office communications on appropriate subjects 
  • Coordinate custom application and equipment – including getting field maps in order, loading product, scheduling equipment operators 
  • Manage Inventory – including ordering of product, forecasting, going through sales orders to keep them current, inventory counts, and tracking and identifying the discrepancies, in compliance with company direction 
  • Submit appropriate reports to the President 
  • Ensure equipment is well maintained and in good repair 
  • Establish a location wish list for capital purchases and assist the leadership team with asset purchases for location 
  • Oversee location OE&S standards including ensuring awareness among all location staff of all standards 
  • Maintain safe, clean, and efficient work environment for our staff and customers.  
  • Keep our site at the CPIC warehouse standard  
  • Work together with other Horizon’s location staff.  
  • Maintain proper shipping/receiving protocol 
  • Be familiar with all location reporting requirements and ensure completion 

Customer Services Rep 

  • Provide sales function to new prospects and customers and walk in customers when appropriate 
  • Learn and ensure compliance with company customer management standards 
  • Ensure highest level of customer service for any customer when appropriate 
  • Look at fields for product related issues when requested 

Staff Supervisor 

  • Ensure communication of direction to reporting staff which includes: Location Operations Staff 
  • Ensure understanding and compliance with the core values with reporting staff 
  • Conduct annual performance reviews with direct reports 
  • Work to solve issues/complaints between reporting staff  
  • Arbitrate unresolved issues and conflicts between staff when appropriate and when requested 
  • Determine job expectations for all direct reports 
  • Regularly communicate with all reporting staff to determine needs and satisfaction 
  • Ensure that training requirements for all direct reports are met and completed on time 

Horizon Team Member 

  • Contribute to and maintain a positive attitude in the workplace 
  • Work to eliminate swearing and gossip in the workplace 
  • Keep and maintain confidentiality of all customers and Horizon’s Ag Team business 
  • Ensure all licenses are up to date and in compliance with provincial and municipal regulations 
  • Be mindful and eliminate any unnecessary expenses for the business 
  • Look for ways to help Horizon Fertilizers be more profitable, even small things 
  • Help with any special projects as required 
  • Be familiar with and live the values that are defined by the Horizon’s Ag Team  
  • Continually develop leadership and business skills 
  • Approve, attend and contribute to community activities when appropriate 
  • Set, maintain, and live high ethical and moral standards  
  • Pleasantly greet customers and suppliers 
  • Fill in for all roles when needed with appropriate skills and talents  
  • Support safety practices and initiatives as set by safety officer and ensure safe driving habits  
  • Maintain and tidy up office and yard 
  • Demonstrate respect and courtesy for all staff, customers, suppliers, and community

Location
Our office is in Lake Lenore, Saskatchewan. Applicants are not required to live in Lake Lenore, but within reasonable driving distance as they will be in the location office.
